The first Mín [岷] range, from Mount Nǚjǐ [女几] to Mount Jiǎchāo [賈超], comprises sixteen mountains and extends 3,500 li. Its gods all have horse bodies and dragon heads. Their rites require a cock buried as an offering, with rice as the sacrificial grain. Mounts Wén [文], Gōunǐ [勾檷], Fēngyǔ [風雨], and Guī [騩] are all chief mountains. Their rites present wine and the lesser sacrifice, with one fine jade hung with the animal offering. Mount Xióng [熊] is an imperial mountain: its rite presents wine and the full animal sacrifice, with a jade disk suspended. Shields are danced with and weapons used to avert harm; in prayer, there is dancing with jade and ceremonial caps.
