A further twenty li east stands Mount Hé [和], without plants or trees above, but with much fine blue-green jade. It is indeed the ninefold capital of the Hé [河]. The mountain has five bends; nine rivers rise here, join, and flow north into the Hé [河], carrying much dark-green jade. The auspicious god Tài Féng [泰逢] governs it. He is human in form, with a tiger's tail, and delights in dwelling on the southern slope of Mount Fù [萯]. Light attends his coming and going. He stirs the breath of heaven and earth. From the English edition of Mountains & Seas. Open the reader for the Chinese editions and translator’s notes.
