A further 400 li north stands Mount Qiáomíng [譙明]. The Qiáo [譙] River rises here and flows west into the Hé [河]. In it are many Hé Luó Yú [何羅], with one head and ten bodies, whose voices resemble barking dogs; eating them cures abscesses. There is a beast like a Huán [貆], with red bristles, whose voice is like “Liúliú [榴榴].” Its name is Mèng Huái [孟槐]; it wards off misfortune. The mountain has no plants or trees, but much blue-green realgar.
