A further 52 li west stands Mount Zhú [竹]. Above grow many tall trees, and the northern slope has much iron. There is a plant called Huáng Guàn [黃雚], resembling a tree of heaven, with hemp-like leaves, white blossoms, and red fruit of an ochre-like appearance. Bathing with it cures scabies and swelling. The Zhú [竹] River rises here and flows north into the Wèi [渭] River. The southern slope has much arrow bamboo and dark-green jade. The Dān [丹] River also rises here and flows southeast into the Luò [洛] River, with many River Dān Crystals and Rén Yú [人魚] in its waters. There is a beast like a pig, with white hairs as thick as hairpins and black at the tips. Its name is Háo Zhì [毫彘].From the English edition of Mountains & Seas.
